Alaska administrator to helm Michigan hospital

Melanee Tiura has been appointed chief administrative officer of Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital and Clinics in Laurium, Mich., part of Wausau, Wis.-based Aspirus Health system.

Ms. Tiura brings more than 25 years of healthcare leadership experience to the role, according to a June 18 Aspirus news release. She most recently served as hospital administrator at Providence Valdez Medical Center, a 21-bed critical access hospital in Alaska.

From 2019 to 2021, she was CEO of Iliuliuk Family and Health Services in Unalaska, Alaska. Since 2017, she has also served as adjunct faculty for healthcare management courses at Finland University in Hancock, Mich., according to her LinkedIn profile.

Aspirus Keweenaw offers emergency care and operates five clinic locations.
