AHA names 8 new board trustees for 2016

The American Hospital Association has named eight members to its board of trustees — seven for a three-year term — beginning Jan. 1.

The seven newly elected board members, who will complete a three-year term, include:

1.    Carmela Coyle, president and CEO of the Maryland Hospital Association (Elkridge, Md.)
2.    David Entwistle, CEO of the University of Utah Hospitals and Clinics (Salt Lake City)
3.    Melinda Estes, MD, president and CEO of Saint Luke’s Health System (Kansas City, Mo.)
4.    Steven Johnson, president and CEO of Susquehanna Health (Williamsport, Pa.)
5.    Bruce Lawrence, president and CEO of Integris (Oklahoma City)
6.    Randy Oostra, president and CEO of ProMedica (Toledo, Ohio)
7.    Mary Beth Walsh, MD, executive medical director and CEO of Burke Rehabilitation Hospital (White Plains, N.Y.)

Joe Wilkins, board chair of St. Joseph Hoag Health in Irvine, Calif., was appointed to the board to fill a one-year vacancy. Mr. Wilkins is a member of the AHA’s Committee on Governance and serves as chair of the Governance Forum of the California Hospital Association.
