Currently, John Fortney, MD, the health system’s senior medical advisor, has taken over as interim president and CEO, but the board of trustees is searching for a permanent replacement for Mr. Shuter. The board is asking the staff, physicians as well as the public for their input.
Adena’s board has set up an email address so all stakeholders can send their thoughts with regard to the traits and characteristics the new leader should possess. The email address will be active through Nov. 25, 2016. The board has already received four pages of emails, according to the report.
In addition, the health system has enlisted the professional services of healthcare search firm Witt/Kieffer and Mercer, a global consultant. The search is likely to take around six months to nine months, notes the report.
