17 Hospital and Health System Executive Moves

The following hospital executive moves occurred within the past week, beginning with the most recent.

1. HCA has announced that Lawrence H. Kloess, III, president of the company’s TriStar Division, will retire Dec. 31.

2. Robert Parker has been promoted from interim CEO to full-time CEO of Meadowview Regional Medical Center in Maysville, Ky.

3. David Kilarski has been named CEO of FirstHealth of the Carolinas, based in Pinehurst, N.C.

4. Jae Dale, CEO of Watsonville (Calif.) Community Hospital, will step down from his post, effective Sept. 9.

5. Blake Medical Center in Bradenton, Fla., has named Justin Doss COO.

6. Ron Webb, CEO at Holy Rosary Healthcare in Miles City, Mont., has announced his retirement, effective Sept. 9.

7. Harvey Case has been named the president of Beaufort Hospital in Washington, N.C.

8. Mike Huff has been named CEO of Hamilton Hospital in Olney, Texas.

9. Peggy Mortensen, COO and executive vice president of St. Joseph Medical Center in Towson, Md., has resigned from her position.

10. Chief Administrator Frank Beirne of Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington, Ky., has been appointed to serve as the new San Mateo, Calif., area manager for Kaiser Permanente.

11. Parkland Memorial Hospital CEO Ron Anderson, MD, will be moved to another role by the end of the year.

12. CEO Douglas Pattullo of West Branch (Mich.) Regional Medical Center will retire in October.

13. Michael Winiarski was named the CFO of Tuomey Health System, based in Sumter, S.C.

14. William J. Huff, CEO of Marshall Browning Hospital in DuQuoin, Ill., will retire in Jan. 2012.

15. Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s HealthCare, based in Louisville, Ky., has named Jim Parobek president of Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital and senior vice president of clinical innovation.

16. Dr. Willem de Villiers has been named chief administrative officer of University of Kentucky HealthCare’s Good Samaritan Hospital, effective immediately.

17. John Moore, COO of South Lake Hospital in Clermont, Fla., has been promoted to CEO of the hospital.
