14 Hospital and Health System Executive Moves

The following hospital executive moves occurred within the past week, beginning with the most recent.

1. Brenda Reeds was appointed CFO of Memorial Hospital of Carbon County in Rawlins, Wyo.

2. Martin Bonick, president of the Jewish Hospital Medical Campus and senior vice president of Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s HealthCare in Louisville, Ky., resigned.

3. Paul Castillo was selected as the new CFO of University of Michigan Health System, based in Ann Arbor, in November.

4. HCA East Florida Division appointed Scott A. Cihak CEO of Kendall Regional Medical Center in Miami, Fla.

5. President and CEO Gregory Burfitt of Allegheny General Hospital and Western Pennsylvania Hospital, both in Pittsburgh, will step down from his role at the end of October.

6. Desert Healthcare District, based in Palm Springs, Calif., announced the appointment of Kathy Greco as CEO.

7. Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, Mass., named William Sullivan CFO.

8. Sacramento, Calif.-based Sutter Health named Michael Cohill president of the West Bay region.

9. Michael Cuffe, MD, was appointed president and CEO of Physician Services for HCA, the Nashville, Tenn.-based hospital operator.

10. Mike Carter, CEO of Miners’ Colfax Medical Center in Raton, N.M., will resign from his job, effective Oct. 14.

11. Jim Murphy, CEO of Herington (Kan.) Municipal Hospital, resigned.

12. Joanne Fenton, CEO of St. Mary’s Hospital in Streator, Ill., announced her resignation, effective Sept. 27. Sharon Timmons was picked to serve as interim CEO.

13. Tammy Mims was appointed COO of Effingham Hospital in Springfield, Ga.

14. Lubbock (Texas) Heart Hospital named Roy Vinson CEO.
