He began his career at UnityPoint Health/Sioux City in 1987 and served there for 25 years, acting as CFO from 2000 to 2011. Most recently, he was interim COO for UnityPoint Health Consolidated Services in Urbandale, Iowa.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in math and finance from Hillsdale (Mich.) College. Mr. Johnson replaced Kevin Vermeer, who was promoted as UnityPoint’s chief strategy officer and accountable care organization CEO.
