Additional EMF-emitting technologies include baby monitors, cellular phones, WiFi and smart meters, scientists report.
Effects of EMF include increased cancer risk, cellular stress, genetic damages and neurological disorders, according to the petition. Wireless devices such as Apple’s AirPods currently meet requirements established by the International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection, but the scientists request the UN and WHO strengthen these guidelines.
The scientists also request the following guidelines provisions: children and pregnant women be protected from EMF-emitting technologies and manufacturers be encouraged to develop safer technology, among others.
