Who's buying? 13 roles considering purchasing EHRs this year

If hospitals don't already have an EHR, they are certainly looking to purchase one. And if they already have one, they may be looking to switch vendors.

The landscape for purchasing EHRs is not stagnant. Here are 13 healthcare leadership roles who reported intentions to purchase an EHR in the upcoming year, according to survey results from peer60, a market research company.

The survey was administered to nearly 1,000 hospital "decision makers" in the U.S.

CMIO: 53 percent (discussed purchasing an EHR in 2015)

Director of nursing: 50 percent

CMO: 32 percent

CNO: 31 percent

CEO: 31 percent

Quality manager: 28 percent

Information Systems director: 24 percent

CIO: 24 percent

CFO: 22 percent

COO: 21 percent

CQO: 15 percent

Director of quality: 15 percent

IT manager: 12 percent
