According to the Jan. 3 announcement from the office of West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice, the businesses generated by LG Electronics’ North America Innovation Center will create 275 high-skilled jobs and spur the growth of new technologies.

In a Jan.10 Metro News article, Sokwoo Rhee, executive vice president of innovation at LG, said the company is headed in a new direction at the same time that West Virginia is looking to ‘remake’ itself, and a $700 million NOVA investment will help both parties develop new concepts.

LG is targeting healthcare as part of its new innovation strategy because officials believe it will improve the overall health of residents and because it is the anticipated direction of the company.
