Mr. Theriault is stepping down for personal reasons, but will remain with the company as a consultant and senior advisor to Stefano Pessina, executive vice chairman and acting CEO.
Anthony Roberts will assume the roles of senior vice president and global CIO at Walgreens Boost Alliance. Mr. Roberts was previously senior vice president and international CIO.
Mr. Roberts recently helped lead integration in preparation for the Walgreens and Alliance Boots merger.
