UC San Diego pioneers first search engine for genomics data

A group of engineers from the University of California, San Diego’s Sheng Zho bioengineering lab have founded what they believe is the first online search engine for functional genomics data.

The search engine, dubbed GeNemo, utilizes user-input data and puts it against functional genomic datasets. Searches in GeNemo are centered on pattern matching of functional genomic regions.

The lab’s work has been published online by the journal Nucleic Acids Research.
