Top 10 States for EHR Adoption

Physicians across the country have not adopted basic electronic health records at the same rate. The 10 states below had the highest percentage of EHR adoption among office-based physicians in 2012, according to a Bloomberg News report.

  1. Wisconsin (70.6 percent)
  2. Minnesota (66.7 percent)
  3. North Dakota (63.2 percent)
  4. Massachusetts (61.8 percent)
  5. Utah (60.8 percent)
  6. Iowa (54.9 percent)
  7. South Dakota (53.2 percent)
  8. Delaware (53.2 percent)
  9. Missouri (48.8 percent)
  10. Washington (48.7 percent)

The national average for EHR adoption in 2012 was 39.6 percent, according to the report.
