Upon becoming Google’s chief executive, Mr. Pichai received 273,328 shares, worth $199 million, according to the report. The addition of these shares elevates Mr. Pichai’s total holdings in Alphabet to a $650 million value.
However, the report notes Mr. Pichai’s stock value is still less than those of Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin, which are valued at $34.6 billion and $33.9 billion, respectively. Additionally, former Google CEO Eric Schmidt holds $3 billion in stock, according to the report.
