The data breach affected 11 million patients and 171 hospitals. A recent study found that healthcare breach costs have increased 53.3 percent since 2020.
HCA also said that the “impact of interoperability requirements” for its EHR technology could also affect future earnings, according to a July 27 HCA news release.
The health system reported $15.9 billion in revenue for the second quarter.
