The University of Louisville (Ky.) is expanding access to teletherapy services as clinicians at its Louisville-based Peace Hospital launched a program designed to refer patients 12 and older for digital behavioral health treatment, ABC affiliate WHAS11 reported Feb. 7.

Below is a list of five hospitals and health systems that rolled out or announced new telehealth services since Jan. 17: 

Tampa, Fla.-based Moffitt Cancer Center is looking to continue the expansion of its virtual care options after seeing a 5,000 percent increase in telehealth treatment in the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Fox13 Tampa Bay reported Feb. 1.

Virtual care company Wheel laid off 28 percent of its workforce Jan. 31, a spokesperson confirmed to Becker's. The move affected 56 employees.

Tucson Medical Center is using telehealth to offer cardiac rehab to rural Arizona residents, the Arizona Daily Star reported.

Charlottesville, Va.-based UVA Health has partnered with a coalition of Southwest Virginia healthcare groups to expand its telehealth offerings to rural communities. 

An analysis of telehealth visits from the research arm of Oakland, Calif.-based Kaiser Permanente found that 11.8 percent of video visits and 12.5 percent of phone visits were followed by an in-person office visit.

Sarah Lopez, MD, a former patient safety officer for Los Angeles-based UCLA Health, has joined Latino-focused telehealth startup Zócalo Health as its first chief medical officer.

Virtual care collaborative Impact has started a crowdsourced online directory of virtual care companies, featuring big players like Amazon Clinic, CVS Health and Amwell.

CVS Health launched new virtual care offerings Jan. 23 focused on primary care and mental health services.
