Patients who live in the Shelby County, Ill., area can go to HSHS Good Shepherd Hospital every three to six months to virtually consult with clinicians at Joslin Diabetes Center Affiliate with HSHS Medical Group in Springfield, Ill., according to the Dec. 3 report.
With the telehealth services, HSHS Good Shepherd Hospital aims to help patients with diabetes who are unable to afford or find transportation to their appointment. Using a computer to virtually consult with Joslin Diabetes Center-affiliated physicians allows patients to discuss health concerns such as blood sugar and medications.
