Symplr names CEO: 3 details

BJ Schaknowski was named CEO of Symplr, a healthcare governance, risk management and compliance software-as-a-service platform, the company said last week.

Three details:

1. Mr. Schaknowski replaces Rick Pleczko, who was named executive chairman of the company, backed by Clearlake Capital Group and SkyKnight Capital.

2. Before joining symplr, Mr. Schaknowski was chief sales and marketing officer at Vertafore, an insurance technology provider. He also was senior vice president of marketing, sales and services at LexisNexis Software Solutions.

3. Mr. Schaknowski will work with Symplr’s senior leaders to further grow the company, which has made several recent acquisitions. On Oct. 23 Symplr signed a definitive agreement to acquire a technology and professional services optimization business from Arsenal Capital Partners.
