This outweighed other concerns about their medical records being inaccurate or outdated, stolen, used fraudulently, lost or destroyed in an accident or inaccessible to an emergency room. The least of surveyed patients’ concerns was medical records not being carried over to a new physician.

Inability to access medical records remained consistent as a top concern across all patient income levels, genders and regions, according to survey findings.
