The health systems — Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford, Conn., Singing River Health System in Ocean Springs, Miss., SLUCare Physician Group in Richmond Heights, Mo., and WVU Medicine in Morgantown, W. Va. — went live on the service to help providers share patient data across networks.
The National Record Locator Service now reaches 14 major health systems and patients in all 50 states. Providers on the National Record Locator Service have access to 230 million patients and four million nationwide patient visits, which they can use to identify previous care locations and retrieve patient clinical records.
“As consumers of healthcare, patients are demanding a more connected healthcare experience,” said Tom Skelton, CEO of Surescripts. “Our goal is to accelerate provider adoption of critical data sharing technologies to increase patient safety, lower costs and ensure quality care.”
