A new software interface in Rauland-Borg's Rauland Responder nurse call system allows for two-way information sharing with the hospital's EMR.
Responder All Touch, the new software, allows patients to enter data from routine nursing workflows directly into a patient's electronic record from a terminal in the patient's room. The information is immediately sent to the EMR, which cross-references the information with existing data to be displayed outside the room for easy access. It also alerts the provider to key indicators as they are entered into the chart.
Rauland-Borg, a Mt. Prospect, Ill.-based software engineering company, announced the new software amid the nationwide push for interoperability between systems, particularly within hospitals.
"Patient care is driven by what is recorded in the EMR," said Maureen Pajerski, Rauland's executive vice president and CMO, in a news release. "All Touch is at the heart of patient-centered care. It maximizes the time and skills of the nursing teams on duty by integrating nursing activity directly with the electronic records."
