Quality Systems to acquire cloud-based software company HealthFusion for $165M+: 4 things to know

Quality Systems, a developer and marketer of practice management software and EHRs, has agreed to acquire cloud-based software company HealthFusion.

Here are four things to know about the transaction.

1. Quality Systems will acquire San Diego-based HealthFusion for $165 million plus potential contingent consideration of up to $25 million.

2. The contingency consideration is based on the generation of $43 million in HealthFusion product revenues during calendar year 2016.

3. The transaction, subject to customary closing conditions, is expected to close by March 31.

4. HealthFusion offers the cloud-based MediTouch platform, which is used by more than 3,000 physician practices, hospital ambulatory centers and medical billing services.
