The professor from City College of San Francisco was demonstrating potential vulnerabilities of computer systems. He notified University Health of the security breach, according to the report.
The health system said in the report the accessed information includes account numbers, names and payment amounts, but no specific identifier information like Social Security numbers or birth dates. The report indicates two individuals had their health information potentially compromised.
A University Health System consultant said the organization took immediate action to increase cybersecurity measures of its systems, according to the report.
