Greenville, S.C.-based Prisma Health has restored functionality to some technology systems affected by a multiday connectivity outage and said it found no indication the disruption is tied to a cyberattack, WYFF News 4 reported Aug. 11.
Staff and patients first flagged computer problems at Prisma Health facilities Aug. 10. A Prisma Health spokesperson told the publication that afternoon that clinical teams are using established downtime procedures to keep care running safely while some services face delays.
“Patient safety and continuity of care remain our top priorities across our hospitals, practices and facilities,” a Prisma Health spokesperson said.
Some incoming calls to Prisma Health medical practices have also been affected.

The outage comes as AnMed, another Upstate South Carolina health system, continues recovering from a cyberattack first identified July 26.
