The tool’s goal is to prove to customers that, contrary to the prevailing belief that Amazon and Walmart offer the best prices for online shoppers, Zulily offers identical products at lower prices 97 percent of the time, according to research cited in Zulily’s announcement of the new tool.
“In connection with our new competitor price feature, and in support of our mission to deliver value, we also created the Best Price Promise to bring a level of transparency and simplicity to the customer by elevating the retail tradition of price match guarantees in the age of mobile shopping,” said Jeff Yurcisin, president of Zulily.
If the price comparison tool results in a boost in sales and consumer loyalty for Zulily, healthcare providers should take note: A recent UnitedHealthcare report showed that online comparison shopping for healthcare services has increased 257 percent since 2012, and that nearly 40 percent of comparison shoppers have switched providers or facilities based on their online research.
