Penn State Health seeks CIO to spearhead EHR, IT operations

Hershey, Pa.-based Penn State Health has enlisted an executive recruitment firm to help find a Cerner-savvy CIO, according to Hunt Scanlon Media.

Penn State Health is seeking to hire a CIO who will be responsible for overseeing strategic and operational elements of the following areas: information technology, informatics, data analytics and health information management functions. The health system has hired executive recruitment firm Tyler & Co. to help fill the position. 

Candidates with knowledge of Cerner EHR systems are preferred and individuals must have at least five years of experience in a senior IT leadership role at a complex teaching and medical center environment or service organization.

Penn State Health comprises five hospitals and 57 multispecialty outpatient clinics across Pennsylvania. The health system is home to more than 1,400 physicians and clinicians with almost 13,000 total workforce members.
