More in Health IT

As hospitals and health systems continue to invest in their artificial intelligence strategies, many have been teaming up with tech giants like Google and Microsoft to deploy healthcare AI tools that can alleviate their providers' burdens and optimize operations.

Sacramento, Calif.-based UC Davis Health has partnered with DispatchHealth to deliver in-home urgent care through a program dubbed the Urgent Medical Care At-Home program.

Grand Blanc, Mich.-based McLaren Health Care's billing system and EHR was affected by a computer network shutdown after its IT security team found suspicious activity during routine monitoring, Detroit Free Press reported Sept. 5.

From deepening its integration of Microsoft's generative AI tools into its ecosystem to rolling out a new online app gallery, here are 14 of Epic Systems' biggest moves this year:

Brain-computer interface technology company Synchron announced the completion of patient enrollment for trials at New York City-based Mount Sinai Health System, University at Buffalo (N.Y.) Neurosurgery and Pittsburgh-based UPMC.

Pittsburgh-based UPMC will be transferring 6 million patient records from nine EHRs to Epic Systems, a task that will involve 600 information technology technicians and as many as 1,200 physicians, nurses, pharmacists and other clinicians, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported Sept. 5.
