The survey found that health executives are deeply concerned about rising costs, as many organizations ended 2022 with negative margins, but that few are leveraging generative AI to help improve their productivity and cost efficiencies.
In the survey, health system executives said they are laser-focused on reducing administrative burdens and enhancing operational efficiency.
Clinical documentation, structuring and analyzing patient data, and optimizing workflows were listed as their top three priorities for the next 12 months, according to the survey.
But executives haven’t deployed a generative AI strategy as there is still a lot of gray area with the technology.
According to those surveyed, “resource and cost constraints, a lack of expertise, and regulatory and legal considerations are the largest barriers to implementing generative AI.”
