NY passes bill to expand telehealth

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed a bill last week to expand access to telehealth throughout the state, according to Government Technology.

The law requires Medicaid to reimburse providers for a range of remote services. Many hospitals already have the equipment, but have been reluctant to use it due to lack of reimbursement, according to the report.

The law also allocates grant funding for 37 schools to establish teleconferencing units for students with serious medical conditions or students in need of psychological services, according to the report.
