Rep. Ellmers asked that the study also include medical error rates of humans and technology.
She recently introduced a bill that would eliminate e-prescribing as a requirement for electronic health record meaningful use. Her “Stripping The E-prescribe Arbitrary Mandates (STEAM) Act” would also prevent Medicare fees from applying to hospitals and physicians that do not e-prescribe.
