The contest allows individuals to submit their most innovative ideas for creating the foundation’s National Health Outcomes Data Sharing Network, which would promote the use of electronic health records and sharing of health information among patients and healthcare professionals. The foundation hopes the network will consist of at least five million members, including patient, families, clinicians and the general public, who would exchange anonymous data from EHRs to better diagnose and treat patients.

There is a $5,000 reward for the winning submission, and the deadline for submissions is Oct. 24.
