The HIE enables separate health entities to share medical records and test results even though those organizations have disparate electronic medical records systems, according to the report.
Currently, the HIE has 22 participating organizations, including Bethesda Health in Boynton Beach, Fla.; Central Florida HIT Initiative in Orlando and Senior Home Care in Clearwater, Fla.
