MultiCare rolls out nursing aid robots to 2 hospitals

MultiCare Health System has rolled out Moxi, a robotic nursing assistant, to MultiCare Tacoma General Hospital and Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital, all based in Tacoma, Wash.

The robot delivers lab specimens, medications and supplies to staff and patients, allowing nurses to spend more time with patients at the bedside, according to a May 18 press release from MultiCare. 

Moxi was first introduced at Spokane, Wash.-based MultiCare Deaconess Hospital in January and was able to save nurses 4.92 million steps.
