To create the tool, McKesson teamed up with an undisclosed third party, which invented an algorithm that processes healthcare data. McKesson will be able to take data from oncology practices, run it through the algorithm and store the newly structured data in its cloud. After that, the practices can analyze the data for insights.
McKesson began work on the tool last July. This spring, it will be made available to a small number of oncology practices through a pilot program. By the end of the year, the tool will likely be integrated into McKesson’s “Practice Insights” analytics platform.
