The Kansas Health Information Network and Health Information Exchange Texas are now connected through the nationwide network eHealth Exchange. This partnership will facilitate consistent patient care, since many patients receive medical care at healthcare facilities in nearby states. The initiative will connect hundreds of hospitals between the two states, according to George Gooch, CEO of the Texas Health Services Authority, which coordinates HIETexas.
Laura McCrary, executive director of KHIN, says that the network’s next step involves implementing an eHealth Exchange connection with veteran services.
