In September 2012, the exchange’s board voted to relinquish powers to oversee regulation of patient electronic medical records in the state, according to The Wichita Eagle. Joe Davison, KHIE chairman, told The Wichita Eagle that while the KHIE created the necessary infrastructure, it soon realized that sustainability was a major problem.
