“We are already in the process of acquiring and implementing a more robust security system to monitor access to patient records,” the statement reads. “Those patients whose personal information was accessed will be notified and offered free credit monitoring.”
The employee has been placed on administrative leave, and the hospital is in the process of notifying patients who may be affected, according to the statement.
This is the second headline-making data breach for Jackson Health within a week, following news that the system fired two employees who inappropriately accessed NFL player Jason Pierre-Paul’s medical records.
