IT job growth slows down

While IT job growth is still on the rise, the number of new jobs being created is falling.

According to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, approximately 145,000 IT jobs will be created this year, though a previous projection reported approximately 160,000 jobs would be created, M. Victor Janulaitis, CEO of management consulting firm Janco Associates, told Wall Street Journal.

“CIOs are now more cautious in their hiring,” Mr. Janulaitis said.

Some of the decline in IT job growth may be attributed to volatility in financial markets, uncertainty in the election year and global instability, Mr. Janulaitis told WSJ.
