Iowa Medicaid Sends Patient Records to Wrong Clinic

Iowa Medicaid Enterprise has announced the personal information of more than 800 Iowa Medicaid beneficiaries was mailed to the wrong health clinic in February, according to a Muscatine Journal report.

The mailing contained affected patients' names, phone numbers and listed the health programs they are enrolled in, according to the report.

Beginning in May, Iowa Medicaid is going to stop mailing patient listings to healthcare providers and require them to download the listings from a secure web portal instead, according to the report.
