The program, dubbed Home Hospital, provides patients with acute conditions such as sepsis and pneumonia the following at-home care, according to a Jan. 17 release from VCU:
- Video and remote patient monitoring.
- Physician oversight.
- In-person visits from acute-care nurses and other staff.
- Services and supplies delivered straight to a patient’s home.
VCU Health says this program aims to serve nearly 2,000 patients in its first year.
