Under the agreement, Siemens will provide the UM System and MU Health Care with cutting-edge diagnostic and therapeutic equipment, enterprise services and digital health solutions, as well as education and training. The four-university conglomerate and its health system will use these resources to advance research, increase the quality of care and increase opportunities for students.
The main pillars of the alliance are to advance healthcare delivery, education and workforce development, healthcare innovation and research and collaboration, all in an effort to improve quality of care. The partnership’s establishment follows that of the NextGen Precision Health Initiative, which launched on the university’s Columbia campus in June, and with which the Siemens alliance will be associated.
