Akron, Ohio-based Summa Health has named the first eight technology companies it will work with under a transformation plan led by its owner, General Catalyst’s Health Assurance Transformation Co.
The companies are Aidoc, Clarium, Commure, Fabric, Hippocratic AI, Judi Health, Transcarent and Verse Medical, according to an Aug. 19 news release shared with Becker’s. All eight are backed by General Catalyst.
Their work spans diagnostic imaging AI, supply chain analytics, ambient documentation and revenue cycle automation, virtual primary care and care orchestration, voice AI for patient outreach and care coordination, claims and benefits administration, care navigation, and management of durable medical equipment and post-acute care.
HATCo is also working with Percepta, a General Catalyst transformation company, to build what the release calls a Health System Command Center, intended to link the eight vendors into a single operating layer for hospital operations.
HATCo acquired Summa Health in October 2025.
“The first nine months were focused on achieving organizational stability and making targeted investments that support staff and ensure patients continue to receive the highest quality health care,” Daryl Tol, acting president and CEO of Summa Health and CEO of HATCo, said in the release. “Summa is now ready to embrace technology that will enable sustainable transformation and outcomes to serve generations in the decades to come.”
Jennifer Eslinger, president and COO of Rochester Regional Health, becomes Summa Health’s president and CEO in September.
Summa Health has two hospitals, 20 health centers, more than 870 licensed inpatient beds and about 8,000 employees.
