The software-as-a-service company embeds formerly paper-based clinical support tools into EHRs for more efficient patient care. The startup was founded by Will Caldwell, MD, a former senior vice president of clinical integration at Novant Health, and a group of health IT software engineers led by David Edwards, PhD, formerly a lead EHR software architect with Intermountain.
The funding round was led by Intel Capital. The platform has been used by Intermountain for the past few years.
“SaVia’s tools enable frontline caregivers to consistently deliver best practices as part of their clinical workflows,” said Raj Srivastava, MD, senior medical executive director at the Intermountain Healthcare Delivery Institute, in a Dec. 8 Intel Capital news release. “We are thrilled to continue partnering with SaVia as an independent company to continue improving patient outcomes.”
