The Hartford, Conn.-based Digital Health CT accelerator program announced on Oct. 16 its inaugural cohort of 10 startups developing a range of healthcare technology solutions spanning artificial intelligence, precision medicine and more.

Not only can organic, internal innovation drive greater growth than external value grabs such as acquisitions, but it will also establish for an organization and its leaders a reputation as forward-thinking and entrepreneurially minded.

Innovation is not merely a synonym for brainstorming, but should instead describe the process of developing actual life-changing solutions, according to James Madara, MD, CEO and executive vice president of the American Medical Association.
