The Dragon Medical Virtual Assistant aims to streamline EHR workflows for the 500,000 clinicians using Dragon Medical, Nuance’s speech recognition solution. The virtual assistant technology is trained on specialized medical terminology to facilitate accurate conversational dialogues.
The virtual assistant will help hospitals reduce clinical burnout and enable providers to spend more time focusing on patient care, according to Nuance officials.
“Our healthcare virtual assistant and smart speaker innovations are designed to enable the clinician to get back to why they went to medical school — to take care of people,” said Peter Durlach, senior vice president of strategy at Nuance’s healthcare division.
