Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic has launched a new initiative to accelerate healthcare innovation through strategic partnerships and company creation.
The program, called Mayo Venture Partner, will connect experienced entrepreneurs and investors with Mayo’s business development team and clinical leaders, according to a May 28 news release Mayo shared with Becker’s.
Mayo Venture Partner aims to identify high-potential opportunities within Mayo Clinic’s research and clinical practices, co-invest in aligned startups, and build ventures from the ground up.
The health system has named three inaugural MVPs:
- Amy DuRoss: A healthcare innovation expert with experience in policy, diagnostics and commercialization.
- Audrey Greenberg: A seasoned venture builder and executive leader across life sciences and healthcare.
- Brian Poger: A serial entrepreneur with a focus on digital health and healthcare services.
Mayo Clinic said the initiative offers a new entry point for investors, CEOs and innovators interested in shaping the future of patient-centered healthcare.
