Tampa General Hospital is seeing a payoff from its remote home care monitoring program through a partnership with Signallamp Health.

The partnership began in 2021 and expanded into 2022. Through the collaboration, patients with chronic conditions are outfitted with wearables that allow Tampa General clinicians to track their vitals.

According to Tampa General, the partnership has resulted in a 92 percent patient retention rate in longitudinal care and has resolved more than 1,200 medication discrepancies.

The wireless monitoring devices don’t require WiFi or the use of smartphones, according to an Aug. 3 Tampa General news release.

The hospital has partnered with digital health company Stel Life to power the system’s hardware and software.

“Our partnership with Signallamp and Stel Life is part of our commitment to driving world-class innovation that truly improves the quality of care our patients receive,” Rachel Feinman, vice president of Innovation at Tampa General and managing director of TGH Innoventures, the hospital’s innovation center and venture capital fund, said in the release. “Remote patient monitoring solutions are a real game changer in providing at-home care for patients with chronic conditions.”
