The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives has elected Zafar Chaudry, MD, as chair of its Board of Trustees for 2027, and added Cleveland Clinic CIO Sarah Hatchett to the board, the Ann Arbor, Mich.-based association said Sept. 23.
Dr. Chaudry, the former chief digital, AI and information officer of Seattle Children’s, will begin his term as board chair Jan. 1, 2027, per a Sept. 23 news release. Ms. Hatchett joins two other new trustees effective the same date: Bonnie Boles, MD, chief medical information officer at Carrollton, Ga.-based Tanner Health, and Inderpal Kohli, CIO of Newark, N.J.-based University Hospital.
CHIME also named Eli Tarlow, director of healthcare strategy at IT company CDW, to its Foundation Board of Directors effective Jan. 1, 2027.
The organization also elected its 2028 Board of Trustees officers: Matthew Kull, chief information and digital officer at Fairfax, Va.-based Inova Health, as chair; Andy Crowder, chief digital and AI officer at Charlotte, N.C.-based Advocate Health, as treasurer; and Deborah Muro, CIO of Mountain View, Calif.-based El Camino Health, as secretary. Mr. Kull’s term begins Jan. 1, 2028.
“Strong governance is essential to the success of any member-driven organization,” CHIME President and CEO Russ Branzell said in a Sept. 23 news release.
