This additional funding supplements funding that was initially awarded in September 2021. The latest funding will be used to commercialize Spectral MD’s DeepView wound imaging system and work to integrate DeepView with EHRs, according to an Aug. 30 Spectral MD news release.
“We are honored to receive this funding to deliver technology assisting with BARDA’s preparedness goal to rapidly develop safe, effective medical countermeasures accessible to all Americans,” Spectral MD CEO Wensheng Fan said. “Importantly, this award expedites bringing this transformative technology to market and will ultimately change the standard of care for burn diagnosis and treatment in the U.S.”
