87 health systems named to Epic’s 2026 Honor Roll, Gold Stars

Epic recognized 87 U.S. health systems across its 2026 Honor Roll, Gold Stars and MyChart Honor Roll programs at its Users Group Meeting in Verona, Wis.

Launched in 2017, the EHR vendor’s voluntary Honor Roll Good Maintenance Grant Program provides financial incentives to health systems that adopt its best practices and latest features. The criteria include ease of use for providers and nurses, enterprise data and analytics, financial, health information exchange, infrastructure, patient experience, population health, and staying current.

The incentives are not insignificant. Baton Rouge, La.-based FMOL Health received a $755,000 grant from Epic after earning the program’s top tier, summa cum laude, for the third time, while Philadelphia-based Temple Health garnered a $418,000 grant at the cum laude level.

Gold Stars, by contrast, does not come with a financial grant. The program instead measures how many relevant Epic features a health system has configured, and separately, how thoroughly staff actually use what’s been turned on. Epic founder and CEO Judy Faulkner told attendees during her Aug. 18 keynote that organizations with higher Gold Stars scores tend to perform better financially, though she cautioned the company could not say the relationship was causal.

“The folks with more stars do better financially,” Ms. Faulkner said. “Think about what you could do with another percent or two of extra margin.”

Among this year’s Gold Stars honorees, Jacksonville, Fla.-based Baptist Health became the first health system in the program’s history to earn a perfect 10 for usage.

Here is the full list of U.S. hospitals and health systems Epic recognized at this year’s meeting, as shown during the vendor’s keynote presentation:
