10 startups join Cedars-Sinai health tech accelerator

Los Angeles-based health system Cedars-Sinai has chosen 10 health technology startups to participate in its eighth annual accelerator program.

The three-month accelerator program will allow company representatives to work with hospital workers to see their products in the real world. All companies in the program will receive a $100,000 investment from Cedars-Sinai and share their products with investors on a demo day, according to the Aug. 23 Cedars-Sinai news release.

The startups selected:

  1. Acolyte Health: Creates video content to improve patient adherence and patient satisfaction
  2. Aevice Health: Uses artificial intelligence wearable devices to monitor respiratory diseases
  3. Aidin: Created a digital health platform to streamline hospital workflow
  4. Candlelit Therapy: Provides mental healthcare for new and expectant parents and works to improve mental health equity 
  5. GattaCo: Expedites blood tests
  6. HealthLeap: Uses an artificial intelligence nutrition app to treat malnutrition
  7. Luminare: Digital platform that speeds up sepsis detection
  8. Shift: Uses virtual reality to train nurses
  9. Siimee:  A jobs recruiting platform that aims to eliminate biases in the recruiting process
  10. Syntho: Uses artificial intelligence to create data used by medical researchers
